Since 2002, Jennifer C. Carter (formerly Jennifer C. de Blanc) has provided clients with representation in domestic legal issues and family law in the Parishes of Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, St. Charles, and Plaquemines. As a former partner in O’Brien & de Blanc with Karen Matherne O’Brien for close to 15 years, Ms. Carter assists individuals and families with very personal familial related legal matters such as divorce proceedings, custody cases, interdictions, and more.
Ms. Carter is a Board-Certified Family Specialist Certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for the past ten years. She has been a member of the Law Institute Committee to study family courts, a member of the Child Support Committee, has been a speaker on numerous occasions with the Loyola Mediation Training Seminar and the Loyola Family Law Seminar.
She received her J.D. degree in 1991 from Tulane Law School and then clerked for the Honorable P. J. Laborde on the Third Circuit Court of Appeal after graduation.
Ms. Carter continues to pursue her dream of helping others navigate the complex and often frustrating legal system through her work, and is available for consultation.
